Modular Loading Mezzanine

ATLUS designed a modular loading mezzanine for a plastic injection moulding factory. The platform supports feed hoppers and provides gated loading points for palletised bags of plastic pellets. Its modular construction allowed installation to progress while normal factory operations continued.

Project at a glance

  • A Better Route

    • Raw plastic pellets needed to be moved from storage to the production-side machinery with less handling.

    • The new mezzanine had to be installed within a working factory without interrupting the surrounding injection moulding operations.

  • Thinking Ahead

    • ATLUS divided the long platform into individual modules that could be fabricated separately, brought into the factory and installed in sequence.

    • Each section bolts to the previous module to create one continuous mezzanine, with hopper supports and loading gates integrated into the design.

  • Efficient Material Flow

    • Pallets and bags of plastic pellets can be loaded directly onto the platform through designated loading gates.

    • The supported hoppers can then be filled manually or by pneumatic conveyor, creating a more direct connection between raw-material storage and production.

Key Outcomes

  • 0 production hours lost during installation
